My First House Intro – The Good Steward

Welcome to the first episode of My First House. First of all, I want to start by telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Timothy Griggs. I am a mortgage broker originator. I have been investing in real estate since about the turn of the century, 1999, 2000. I started buying and flipping properties. I was a General Manager for a commercial door company. I was doing that while I was fixing properties.

I did several flips in the early 2000s and sold high in 2005. I had some rentals at that time and sold several rentals in 2005 at the peak of the market before it crashed. Bought back in 2009, I accumulated several other rentals and did it again. I sold properties and kept rentals several times. I ended up leaving the door industry as a full-time occupation and going full-time into real estate.

It's our responsibility to help those who do not understand finances to become financially literate so that they improve themselves and create generational wealth. Click To Tweet

I got my broker’s license in 2014. I opened our office here in Eastvale, California. I have done several different types of loans like reverse mortgages, investment loans, FHA, VA and conventional. In doing so, I have had to deal with a lot of clients that are struggling with their credit and finances. It was heartbreaking. For me, I always try to help them to understand their credit, why they are not qualifying, what they need to do to qualify for home loans and how to improve on their credit.

I was lying in bed one night. The Lord dropped this thought in my mind to create an app. Right before the pandemic shut us all down, I did that. I put into development The Good Steward financial app. I wrote down a lot of the different functions that I wanted the app to do and perform. The app is on the market but we are still working on several different aspects of the app. The app is to help us all in becoming good stewards. You can link your credit score and several accounts to the app so you can view all this in one place. It is a FinTech app, Financial Technology.

My First House: In My First House podcast, we’re going to be doing a deep dive into finances and credit and talking to professionals across the board, including real estate brokers, mortgage brokers, and loan originators.

We are going to be bringing in the future and money movement where you can create accounts. Those that are unbanked will be able to create accounts. That is in the future. We also have in development our crypto wallet that will be part of the system as well. In this show, we are going to be doing a deep dive into finances and credit and talking to professionals across the board. That could range from real estate brokers, mortgage brokers, loan originators, pastors and those that are in the financial insurance industry. There are several people that we are going to be talking to.

Crypto, we are going to be talking about how that is coming into play in the market and even in real estate. There is a lot of content that is going to be covered in our show. We ask that you continue to join us in future sessions and follow us on social media. You can go to our website, TGSIsTheGoodSteward.com. There, you can download the app and look for future updates. We are not going to stop until we get the app to a place where it is a tool that can help us all in viewing our credit, managing our accounts and creating accounts if we do not have accounts. That is what The Good Steward is set out to do.

We can’t be a good steward of our credit and finances and our personal lives unless we're giving back. We have to sow in order to receive. Click To Tweet

Also, giving back to nonprofits and the nonprofit link was added to our website. There is a link there that was added for charity. I’m super excited about that. It was a major accomplishment. This is an initial session to set the pace for where we are going. As of what we are is what I went over with you but where are we going, why we are doing what we are doing and who are we helping? It is our responsibility to help those who do not understand finances to become financial literate so that they can improve themselves and their families and create generational wealth for the next generation.

The Good Steward is to help us all and build up that next generation, those that are coming up who do not understand finances, do not know what to do with their funds and extra cash or even how to save cash. We will be touching on several different topics. We will be getting input from a lot of different professionals on these different topics. I do not claim to know everything about every topic we are going to be discussing. That is why we are going to be talking to the professionals to help us to get an understanding of these different topics and resources, how to invest and how to get a return on our investment.

My First House: What differentiates TGS from a lot from a lot of the other credit platforms is that we want to make sure that we bring that “giving back” factor.

There will be different levels of topics, as some of you might find that could be a little over the top. We are going to try to simplify a lot of our topics so that they are easily understood and ask those questions to help those who do not understand to understand and be able to get the help that they need in those areas. Who do we help? We are going to be helping anyone that is looking for help with their finances and credit. We want to be able to help you that are struggling to understand that and also professionals to reach those that need the help to pass on their talents and skills to help others.

We are going to be talking about stewardship on how giving can impact our growth, whether it is in our finances or personal lives. However we sow, that is how we were going to reap. We want to talk about the laws of sowing and reaping. Those are the topics and how The Good Steward was formed in my mind and thoughts.

It is being a good steward. You cannot be a good steward of your credit, finances and personal lives unless we are giving back and sowing. We have to sow to receive. That is a major part of TGS. What differentiates us a lot from a lot of the other credit platforms is that we want to make sure that we bring into that giving back factor of our finances. That is a part of our finances that we do not readily see.

You cannot just look at the app and say, “I see that I gave this much and this is going to happen.” It is not predictable in that sense but as you find yourself giving, then you start to say, “I find myself doing better than I realized.” That is the part of reaping that you will start to see over time. You are learning, doing better, achieving those short-term goals, looking forward and on track to the larger goals. Those are some of the things that we can look forward to in our future sessions. We will be talking to those that are struggling with their finances and those that can give testimonies on the sowing and reaping and what they have done to improve their credit.

This is an initial call of The Good Steward. We look forward to talking with professionals and sharing more with you in the future. I look forward to our next episode, our initial launch. We will announce who that first guest will be but we have several in the pipeline. We look forward to talking to you soon. Thank you.
